A fully mature yet cool, restrained and beautifully layered nose combines notes of lemon peel, pear, green apple, acacia and a background trace of wood. Even at 16 years of age the gorgeously textured medium-bodied flavors remain strikingly intense while flashing the classic minerality of a fine Perrières, all wrapped in a breathtakingly persistent, complex and harmonious finish. For my taste this has arrived at its full majority but with that said, there is no reason this stunner of a wine shouldn't continue to hold well. Note that while I had consistent notes over the years, one bottle tasted in 2012 was affected by premox.
